DATES for 2024 & 2025

Friday 21st-23rd June, 2024 –  Blue Sky Mind Retreat

During this retreat, we’ll learn inspirational meditations to help us enjoy our blue sky mind and let go of the distracting thoughts and worries within. We’ll explore how our root mind is like the blue sky, and our conceptual thoughts are like clouds arising and dissolving out of this sky. We’ll have not just a physical retreat in a beautiful location but a real retreat from the busy thoughts in our mind!

Please contact Glenthorne for booking and further details.

Friday 4th-6th October, 2024 – Inner Peace Meditation Retreat

The Inner Peace Meditation Retreat is a transformative experience carefully designed to help you cultivate a deeper sense of calm and inner stillness. Over the course of the weekend, you’ll be guided through a series of gentle meditation practices, all helping you quieten the mind and cultivating a sense of inner peace. By the end of the retreat, you’ll have developed valuable skills for managing stress and cultivating lasting inner peace.

Please contact Glenthorne for booking and further details.

Friday 27th to Sunday 29th June, 2025 – Guide to the Blissful Way of Life: Meditation Retreat

Experience a transformative journey where you’ll engage in a series of meditations to enhance the bliss within your mind. Learn the art of meditation to unlock a profound sense of inner peace and joy. Delve into practices designed to cultivate a light and enjoyable experience, guiding you towards happiness from a natural, non-material source. If you seek to discover true happiness within, join this weekend for an enriching retreat experience that will leave you rejuvenated and inspired.

Please contact Glenthorne for booking and further details.

Friday 10th to Sunday 12th October, 2025 – Taming the Tiger: Train Your Mind Through Meditation

In this context, “taming the tiger” metaphorically refers to gaining control over one’s inner struggles, emotions, and thoughts, much like taming a powerful and potentially dangerous animal. Our mind has the power to make us happy or unhappy, patient or angry, uplifted or depressed; if we learn to skilfully tame it in meditation we have the power and mental freedom to direct our life towards peace, happiness, and content.  This retreat will privde inspiration, guidance and encourage to the tame the tiger within!

Please contact Glenthorne for booking and further details.

Take a break from the stress of modern life, experience inner peace, calm and stress relief on this unique Mindfulness and Meditation retreat.

Spending a weekend retreat practising Mindfulness and Meditation whilst enjoying the beauty of the Lake District in friendly, like-minded company will refresh, recharge and rejuvenate your body and mind.

The weekend will reveal a variety of Guided Mindfulness practices which we will engage in together and provide the opportunity to practice Mindful Walking in the surrounding countryside.

Following the retreat, you will have resources to continue your practice at home. Retreat guided by Adam Dacey.

Brilliant weekend

Lovely peaceful location and comfortable accommodation. The retreat was a great chance to put daily life aside and focus on mindful meditation practice, Adam's sessions are always enjoyable and thought provoking.

Metta Meditation Lake District

A beautiful and tranquil location with opportunities to enjoy meditations in a peaceful indoor facility, as well as walks and meditations at the nearby Grasmere lake, rivers and woodland areas. The food was excellent too!

The teachings and guided meditations were superb. Adam has a very calm and engaging style and the subject of ‘metta’ (loving kindness) was beautiful and thought provoking.

This was my third meditation retreat at the Lakes, with the forth one booked … this probably says it all!! I would definitely recommend the retreats with Adam for people new to mediation, as well as more experienced meditators.

Thank you to Adam and all the lovely people in this group who made this such an enjoyable weekend.

This was my first retreat and so I was a little aprenhensive about what to expect from this weekend. I must say I was so glad I went. The group of people were lovely and very friendly which made it a comfortable experience. We got on in the morning and practised silent meditation which does bring a peaceful mind.Meditating all while hearing the birds and other animals was a beautiful experience which made me feel connected to nature on a deep level.
The location is amazing too and Adam was very welcoming. All in all a very nice experience!

Felt at Ease 🙂

Having attended many of the Mindspace courses, this was my first experience of a retreat. The accommodation was very peaceful & is truly a hidden gem. Staff were extremely helpful & the food was amazing to, compliments to the chef. Adams teachings are just so inspiring, he has a friendly sense of humour & makes you feel welcome & comfortable despite your meditation experience. His encouragement is infectious & I encourage anyone to attend any of the Mindspace retreats. I am very grateful to Adam & all the wonderful people I met, loving kindness is a beautiful practice, may you all be at ease 🙂

A very peaceful weekend

A very thought provoking and peaceful weekend spent at Glenthorne Quaker guesthouse at Grassmere, with Adam Dacey leading the meditation, Adam is a quiet man but with a lovely quirky sense of humour. The evening meals were absolutely superb, some of the best food I have ever tasted served quickly and efficiently., all staff especially reception were efficient and eager to please. This was my second visit and I certainly hope I will return.

Awe inspiring

What a wonderfully relaxing weekend surrounded by majestic hills. It really gave me a chance to relax into compassionate meditation with like- minded souls. The meals were second to none and the free time to explore locally was very welcome. I felt at home straight away and Adam was a calming guide with lots of wisdom.

Safe Haven at Glenthorne

In difficult times, the 2020 Mindspace retreat at Glenthorne provided fine space and time to reflect.

One’s internal motor seems to slow right down; preoccupations lose their urgency; a calmer perspective arises in Grasmere’s beautiful landscape.
Thank you to everyone who made the visit as special as it was.
