DATES for 2026/27

2026 / 2027

Glenthorne are now taking bookings for 2026. 2027 will open soon, please contact them for further information.

Friday October 9th – 11th, 2026 – Lake of Peace: Finding Calm in the Mind’s Reflection

Our mind is like a lake, reflecting the world around it. When the surface is calm, the reflection becomes clear. This meditation retreat supports you in pacifying the ripples of thought, allowing you to experience the clarity and balance that arise from a peaceful, reflective mind.

Please contact Glenthorne for booking and further details.

 …

Friday 11th-13th June, 2027 – Infinite Light: Opening to the blissful nature of mind

On this retreat, we’ll have the opportunity to engage in a series of meditations and visualisations that bring light and spaciousness to the mind. Beginning with breathing meditations, we gradually deepen into practices of compassion and, finally, meditations that awaken the mind of enlightenment.

As the mind becomes calmer and more open, we begin to discover an inner environment of peace, warmth, and clarity, a space where positive qualities can naturally flourish. Supported by the beauty and stillness of the Lake District, the retreat creates the conditions for a profound sense of peace, connection, and renewed inspiration in meditation practice.

Please contact Glenthorne for booking and further details.

Friday 8th-10th October, 2027 – Moments of Stillness: A meditation retreat from busyness

As autumn arrives, this retreat offers space to step back from the busyness of daily life and connect with the stillness of the mind. In the quiet of retreat, we discover a natural sense of calm and ease often missed in busy lives.

Through meditation, reflection, and time in the beauty of the autumnal Lake District, we create the conditions for deep rest and stillness. As the mind settles, there is a softening in which wellbeing and balance arise, and we gently restore.

We return home with stillness in the heart, a strengthened sense of resilience, and an intention to sustain our meditation practice.

Please contact Glenthorne for booking and further details.

Blissful way of life

This is my third time to Lake District Meditation Retreat. Previously I have brought my family members too. I have been attending Adam’s classes for last 10 years but going to weekend Retreat strengthen my Meditation practice. It is beautiful venue and food is nourishing and delicious. This Retreat has provided me with vast space in my mind . I shall definitely keep going back and would recommend to everyone.

Inner Peace Meditation Retreat

I highly recommend you attend Adam’s amazing meditation retreat.

I had such a wonderful weekend meeting lovely likeminded meditators, thoroughly enjoyed the fab food whilst appreciating all that Mother Nature has to offer…..

Adam, heartfelt thanks and gratitude for guiding me to find a deeper level of calm and peacefulness, I couldn’t stop laughing Saturday night after our evening meditation!

Also, thank you so very much for sending daily meditation messages ahead of the event and for sharing really useful meditation learning material afterwards.

You are such an enlightened soul and I’m truly blessed to have met you.

To my family of fellow meditators, I thank you for all our lovely conversations and for your kindness.

I trust we’ll meet again, in the meantime, sending you all the peace and positivity in the whole wide universe….

Keep shining like the stars you are!

Thanks sooo much!

Such a lovely weekend retreat

Glenthorne is set such a beautiful location allowing you to retreat away from the stress of every day allowing you to get to know your mind a bit better ?

The staff are very welcoming, the rooms are spotless and the food is wonderful with generous portions.

Adam’s Meditation teachings are inspiring. His practices are genuine, delivered in a way that anyone can follow. They have made a such difference in my life. I am very grateful to have attended this course & met such lovely people.

I’m looking forward to going again in June 25!

Metta Meditation Lake District

A beautiful and tranquil location with opportunities to enjoy meditations in a peaceful indoor facility, as well as walks and meditations at the nearby Grasmere lake, rivers and woodland areas. The food was excellent too!

The teachings and guided meditations were superb. Adam has a very calm and engaging style and the subject of ‘metta’ (loving kindness) was beautiful and thought provoking.

This was my third meditation retreat at the Lakes, with the forth one booked … this probably says it all!! I would definitely recommend the retreats with Adam for people new to mediation, as well as more experienced meditators.

Thank you to Adam and all the lovely people in this group who made this such an enjoyable weekend.

This was my first retreat and so I was a little aprenhensive about what to expect from this weekend. I must say I was so glad I went. The group of people were lovely and very friendly which made it a comfortable experience. We got on in the morning and practised silent meditation which does bring a peaceful mind.Meditating all while hearing the birds and other animals was a beautiful experience which made me feel connected to nature on a deep level.
The location is amazing too and Adam was very welcoming. All in all a very nice experience!

Felt at Ease 🙂

Having attended many of the Mindspace courses, this was my first experience of a retreat. The accommodation was very peaceful & is truly a hidden gem. Staff were extremely helpful & the food was amazing to, compliments to the chef. Adams teachings are just so inspiring, he has a friendly sense of humour & makes you feel welcome & comfortable despite your meditation experience. His encouragement is infectious & I encourage anyone to attend any of the Mindspace retreats. I am very grateful to Adam & all the wonderful people I met, loving kindness is a beautiful practice, may you all be at ease 🙂

A very peaceful weekend

A very thought provoking and peaceful weekend spent at Glenthorne Quaker guesthouse at Grassmere, with Adam Dacey leading the meditation, Adam is a quiet man but with a lovely quirky sense of humour. The evening meals were absolutely superb, some of the best food I have ever tasted served quickly and efficiently., all staff especially reception were efficient and eager to please. This was my second visit and I certainly hope I will return.

Awe inspiring

What a wonderfully relaxing weekend surrounded by majestic hills. It really gave me a chance to relax into compassionate meditation with like- minded souls. The meals were second to none and the free time to explore locally was very welcome. I felt at home straight away and Adam was a calming guide with lots of wisdom.
