Daily meditation practice gives us the objectivity to be able to pause and step back; this doesn’t have to be for a long time, even one moment.
When we can step back, we give ourselves the freedom to decide how to respond.
We can reflect will this response benefit myself and others.
If negativity is in my mind right now who is this benefitting, and is it in anybody’s interest if I hold onto this?
We response strategically. In a way that moves our life forward.
Each time we respond with negativity and hold onto this, we hold ourselves back from making progress, in both our outer and inner life.
We can reflect:
What is my mental strategy for dealing with challenging circumstances, and is this currently benefitting me?
Do I take responsibility for the emotions that are currently in my mind.
