Listening to Nature

Take the opportunity to go out into nature, somewhere quiet, where you can immerse yourself into natural sound.

Sit down, draw yourself into the present through observing your breathing.

Notice the sensation of your body and the experience of your breath .

Then open your ear to the different sounds of nature around you.

Perhaps there is almost no sound.  Be aware of this.

Allow sounds to arise and dissolve.

We are not engaging intellectually with the sounds, for example thinking what type of bird it is that we can hear, but simply experiencing the present moment as the sounds arise and dissolve.
